The National Festival "Cununa Petrolului"

 

The town of Moreni hosted the 4th edition of the national music festival "Cununa Petrolului" for children and adolescents.

 

The competition included 3 age categories (7-10 years, 11-14 years, 15-19 years), and as in previous years was comprised of 3 music sections, a traditional art section with workshops and an exhibition section, and a tradition costume section.

 

Pupils from clubs and children's palaces all around the country participated on the festival stage, each institute prticipating with one or two children in each age category and each music section.

 

Head of the festival jury was Titus Andrei, accompagnied by Viorel Gavrila, Benone Sinulescu, Laurentiu Cazan, Mihai Constantinescu, Adrian Daminescu, and Ilie Micolov. Each member of the jury also performed on stage alongisde special guest, Fuego, and the young singer Maria Craciun.

 

Last year, the winner of the light music section was Gabriela Bejan from the Children's Palace in Brasov, while the winner of the pop music section was Roxana Croitoru from the Children's Palace in Tirgul Jiu.

This year, the winners of the Cununa Petrolului Festival 2012 were as follows:

The band Youvenis won the Pop-Rock section.

The 4th edition of the "Cununa Petrolului" festival took place in Moreni and announced its winners.
The competition included 3 sections: traditional music, light music and for the first time this year, rock music.

All of the sections were destined for children, as the participants all represent the different Children's Palaces and club around the country.

Maria Craciun received a trophy for her recital performed in Moreni.

The Light Music section of the competition was won by Andrada Tudosa from Targoviste, while the Popular Music section was won for a second time by Eusebiu Gafita from Suceava. The newest section of the competition, the Pop-Rock band section, was won by the group Youvenis from Intorsura Buzaului.

As remarked by head jury member, Titus Andrei, the new Po-Rock section was very well received, with the young participants proving themselves to be very good. The rest of the jury was made up of Adrian Daminescu, Mihai Constantinescu, Laurentiu Cazan, Ilie Micolov, as well as the traditional soloist Cristina Preda. Each member also performed themselves on stage as part of the festival in Moreni. Alongside them, on the Saturday evening, a mini recital was performed by the young sisnger Maria Craciun, who was a huge success with the public in the hall.

One of Moreni's amazing young singers is ALEXANDRA IONITA (aged 14).
